At Navchetna, we believe that whether you are addressing healthcare, poverty, population control, unemployment, or human rights, there's no better place to start than in the corridors of education.
Education is both the means as well as the end to a better life; means, because it empowers an individual to earn his/her livelihood and the end because it increases one's awareness on a range of issues – from healthcare to appropriate social behavior to understanding one's rights, and in the process evolve as a better citizen.

Through its initiatives, Navchetna gives special emphasis on women and child education. We hope to play a leading role in redefining education, not as a mere enrollment statistic, but as a powerful tool to spark empowerment and prosperity.
OUR PROJECTS
AANGANWADI SUPPORT & SUPPLEMENTARY LEARNING PROGRAMS
Through our supplementary learning projects, Navchetna offers a range of educational support to children in Pithoragarh, outside their school days (out-of-school learning). These programs are particularly focussed on the provision of additional support for curriculum subjects (Language, Maths, etc.). We also provide intermediate-level computer coaching classes to children, with an aim to equip them with the relevant technical skill set, essential for the workforce of tomorrow.
ADULT EDUCATION - MAHILA MANGAL DAL
In the presence of Gram Panchayat and Gram Pradhan, Navchetna has reformed the Mahila Mangal Dal of village Ruina with an aim to empower the women by providing financial, legal, and health support.

Navchetna works very closely with the elected representatives to curate a relevant curriculum for the demographic and facilitates education and training of all members on financial and legal matters.
CAREER COUNSELLING & PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT
Our aim is to provide a learning environment that is conducive for
promotion of social, emotional, aesthetic, and cognitive development of the children of Uttarakhand.
We inaugurated our first ‘Personality Development’ classes on October 1, 2015. The children are taught basic etiquette & how to effectively converse in English by use of demonstrative methodologies such as showing documentaries, encouraging educational games and learning rhymes. The older children in the age group of 12 to 17 are groomed and provided with higher education/career support such as guidance on interview preparation & professional etiquette.
COMPUTER COACHING FOR GIRLS
Navchetna inaugurated its first computer coaching centre in Ruina, Pithoragarh on Dec 1, 2014. We are providing free computer coaching to underprivileged girls from villages. All girls from all sections who are economically/socially backward, living below the poverty line or come from single/no parent families can avail the course.
We have designed a training that includes basic courses like Computer Hardware & Fundamentals, Introduction to MS
Office, Email, Exploring the Internet, and Windows. Our aim is to promote digital awareness so as to equip these young girls with relevant technical skills essential for work.
CAPACITY-BUILDING OF LOCAL SCHOOLS
Navchetna supports secondary schools in rural Uttarakhand by providing academic advice and career counselling through regular workshops. We help students access financial resources and make informed decisions regarding their studies and career path.
We also provide support to the teaching administration of local schools by providing free capacity-building and train-the-trainer workshops to teachers and head educators across the region.
