We believe in making the classroom a special, unique experience. We aim to create a fun learning environment that is infused with different types of activities - stories, games, and conversations.
END PERIOD POVERTY: SANITARY PAD DISTRIBUTION IN RUINA
The nationwide lockdown brought in by the Union Government to fight the coronavirus pandemic led to a shutdown of several goods like sanitary pads. For this campaign, we’ve joined hands with apparel brand TBD to supply ‘Period Pouches’ to women across villages in Uttarakhand (focus on Munakot district spanning 76 villages and constituting ~11,500 women).
ALCOHOL AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
The state of Uttarakhand has had a rough history with overconsumption of alcohol, alcohol violence, as well as underage drinking. The harmful use of alcohol & drug brings significant social and economic losses to individuals and families at large. In lieu of the same, Navchetna has partnered with several women organizations as well as local schools, to create district-wide campaigns against underage drinking & alcohol over-consumption. The campaigns focus on life skills to instill confidence to make the right choices, and not succumb to peer or societal pressures.

We don't just work for the communities in Uttarakhand, we form strong bonds of friendship. By assimilating ourselves in the local culture, we get closer to our beneficiaries and to our goal of supporting their livelihoods. We consider ourselves as their extended families, and often join in the village festivities and organize local get-togethers.
EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES ORGANISED BY NAVCHETNA WITH VILLAGE CHILDREN
In addition to our project activities, we also organise local get-togethers and events to keep the spirits of the communities high. In this video, you'll see a group of girls from the villages in Pithoragarh performing a singing and dancing show. For this show, Navchetna led the overall training, costume designing, and event organising.
LANGUAGE TRAINING SESSION (ENGLISH)
For supplementary learning programs, it is vital that children remain motivated and look forward to an additional hour of learning after school. This is why, our sessions are designed in a way that is fun, experimental, and highly educational. Our trainers are like their friends, forging strong, personal bonds with the students.
